Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
There were little or no information on what projects, have been undertaken and where they have been implemented. The project sought to answer these questions through a detailed review of existing carbon trading projects in Tanzania. The purpose is twofold; firstly, to assess and document the status of REDD related projects in Tanzania and secondly, to draw lessons for scaling up these initiatives.
Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by your Staff:
To identify the following categories of REDD related projects in the country
(i) Existing REDD related projects
National REDD Strategy
REDD Demonstration projects
(ii) Existing REDD related voluntary projects e.g. K:TGAL and Carbon Tanzania
(iii) Existing activities with potential for REDD e.g. PFM, WMAs and related programs
(iv) Existing activities that reduce pressure on deforestation and forest degradation
(v) Other Non-REDD/CDM projects
